Bower & Branch Landscape Design Tip:

Willows love moisture, so choose a spot with consistently damp soil or plan to water regularly during dry stretches, especially while the tree is getting established. Give Niobe plenty of room away from foundations, septic systems, and underground lines, since willows naturally seek water. Prune in late winter to remove any dead, rubbing, or overly long branches and to maintain a clean canopy line. If you plant it near water, let the branches drape naturally for the most graceful effect. This tree is at its best when you lean into its wild beauty, not when you try to make it behave like a formal shade tree.
