Sold by
Description
This grey and brown hand-woven, one-of-a-kind rug reflects an Anatolian heritage, featuring a flatwoven construction with a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. Its low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable, layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, reversible weave, soft-touch, distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal, and sun-bleached tones define its aesthetic.
About This Style
Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments derived from mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving traditions. Distressed styles mimic age through erased pile areas that reveal the base structure, often enhanced by overdyeing to produce a ghost-pattern effect. Medallion rugs are defined by a central circular, oval, or diamond motif framed by a distinct border, a hallmark of classical Anatolian design.
Where It Works
The flatwoven construction makes this rug suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and living spaces. It is compatible with underfloor heating systems and serves as an effective layering piece over larger textiles.
