This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece celebrates Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction featuring a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. With its low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable, layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, reversible weave, soft-touch, distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal, and sun-bleached tones, this turquoise vintage rug offers an authentic aged aesthetic.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique or aged aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. Distressed vintage rugs result from decades of use combined with overdyeing, a process where the rug is submerged in a saturated colour bath to reveal a ghost-pattern of the original design beneath the wash. These pieces draw from the broader tradition of mid-20th-century small village workshops, where motifs were produced using regional techniques.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie flat against the floor, making it highly suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and dining rooms. Its thin profile is ideal for layering over larger carpets, and the material composition is compatible with underfloor heating systems.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — The flatwoven construction ensures a no-shed, low-pile surface that is easy to maintain and practical for busy households.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
