Mupoon - Vintage Floral Rug - 5'7 X 9'7

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece preserves Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction, showcasing a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. Featuring a low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable profile, this layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, reversible weave offers a soft-touch, distressed character with ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal, and sun-bleached tones.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. Floral compositions in these rugs range from densely scrolled all-over fields to mid-century rose-bouquet repeats, reflecting both traditional Ottoman vocabulary and 20th-century regional variations. These pieces often reference the mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving tradition, where items were produced in small village workshops using regional motifs.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie flat against the floor, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its low-profile design is compatible with underfloor heating systems and serves as an effective base for layering.
