Mitaor - Vintage Floral Rug - 5'9 X 9'7

This beige hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece embodies Anatolian heritage through its flatwoven construction, faded patina, abrash detail, overdyed finish, low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable, layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, reversible weave, soft-touch, distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal, and sun-bleached tones.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. Distressing often results from decades of use combined with overdyeing, leaving ghost traces of the original pattern visible beneath the wash. Floral motifs in these pieces range from scrolled all-over fields to rose-bouquet repeats, reflecting both traditional Ottoman vocabulary and mid-20th-century regional variations.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie flat against the floor, making it ideal for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its thin profile is compatible with underfloor heating systems and serves as an effective base for layering over larger rugs.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features a classic floral motif rendered in muted, sun-bleached beige tones with a characteristic ghost-pattern effect.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend, offering the breathability of natural fibres alongside the moisture resistance and durability of polyester.
• — The no-pile, flatwoven construction ensures the rug is shed-resistant and easy to maintain in busy households.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Designed for longevity, the high-traffic durable surface is suitable for frequent use and provides a stable foundation for layering in various interior settings.
