This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece embodies Anatolian heritage, featuring a flatwoven construction, faded patina, and distinct abrash detail. With an overdyed finish, low-pile no-shed profile, and high-traffic durable cotton-polyester blend, it is layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, and offers a reversible weave, soft-touch distressed character, ghost-pattern 70s craftsmanship, and sun-bleached tones.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variations, or worn-look surface treatments. These pieces reference the mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving tradition, where items were produced in small village workshops using regional motifs. Distressed vintage rugs specifically utilise surface treatments that mimic age and wear; this often involves overdyeing, a process where the rug is submerged in a saturated colour bath, leaving ghost traces of the original pattern visible beneath the wash.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie flat against the floor, making it highly suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and entryways. Its thin profile is ideal for layering over larger carpets and ensures compatibility with underfloor heating systems.
