About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic through faded tones, abrash colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments. Distressed rugs feature a surface treatment where selective fading or erased pile reveals the base structure, often resulting from an overdyed finish that leaves a ghost-pattern of the original motif. Medallion rugs are defined by a dominant central circular, oval, or diamond-shaped motif, which serves as the anchor for the overall composition and is typically framed by a structurally distinct border.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction allows this piece to lie flat against the floor, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. It is also compatible with underfloor heating systems and serves as a practical option for layering over larger rugs.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features a prominent central medallion motif rendered in a stylised, geometric fashion characteristic of mid-20th-century Turkish design.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend; the cotton provides breathability, while the polyester adds durability and moisture resistance for everyday use.
• — The no-pile flatwoven construction ensures the rug lies perfectly flat, preventing tripping hazards and facilitating easy cleaning.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Designed to be layering-friendly and high-traffic durable, making it an ideal choice for busy households and professional environments.
