About This Style

Vintage rugs are defined by an aged aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, and distressed surface treatments. Distressing often results from decades of use combined with overdyeing, a process where the rug is submerged in a saturated colour bath, leaving ghost traces of the original pattern visible beneath the wash. Medallion motifs, a hallmark of classical Anatolian design, are typically rendered in geometric or stylised forms rather than curvilinear patterns, and are framed by structurally distinct borders.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie flat against the floor, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and entryways. It is compatible with underfloor heating and functions well for layering over larger carpets.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features a central medallion motif with a grey overdyed finish and visible ghost-pattern character.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend; cotton provides breathability, while polyester adds durability and moisture resistance.
• — Flatwoven construction ensures a no-pile surface that is easy to maintain and suitable for high-traffic environments.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — The low-pile design is underfloor-heating safe and ideal for layering to create depth in various interior settings.
