Magnolia x 'Susan'
Deep Red Purple Flower - Small Deciduous Magnolia

Zones 3b-8

Magnolia × 'Susan' is an award-winning deciduous magnolia hybrid developed by William Kosar and Dr. Francis de Vos at the U.S. National Arboretum by crossing Magnolia liliiflora 'Nigra' and Magnolia stellata 'Rosea'. Part of the famous "Little Girl" Series, 'Susan' produces fragrant, dark pink to fuchsia-purple, lily-shaped blooms in spring. This compact, slow-growing magnolia has an upright habit, making it ideal as a specimen tree or flowering hedge. It reaches approximately 10–15 ft tall and 8–12 ft wide in 10 years.
