Lotus Tattoo, Root Base Chakra Design

Muladhara, the Root Chakra, is traditionally surrounded by a 4-petaled lotus and is tattooed at the base of the spine. Associated with the color red, it represents confidence, trust in life and self-esteem. It is from this point that the base sex instincts arise, the need to survive and the fight or flight reflex.
