Description

Its sibling Le Beau Le Parfum leans fruity and woody; Paradise Garden takes the same name and heads somewhere considerably more tropical. Green notes, watery notes, mint and ginger open this Le Beau Paradise Garden Eau de Parfum crisp and aquatic, spiced just enough to avoid reading as purely generic freshness. Coconut, fig and salt build an unusual, beach-adjacent heart, creamy and mineral at once. Tonka bean and sandalwood close out a warm, simple drydown that grounds all that coconut and salt. Sold as Le Beau Paradise Garden Cologne, Jean Paul Gaultier classifies this Eau de Parfum as fresh aromatic, at home in daytime and warm weather, closer to an actual vacation than most fragrances that only claim the association in their marketing copy. Salt paired directly against coconut and fig is an unusually literal beach accord, evoking sun-warmed skin and salt water rather than the more abstract, generic "ocean breeze" formula most aquatic fragrances settle for. The coconut-salt pairing in the heart is distinctly unusual for a men's fragrance and does most of the distinguishing work here, one of the more transportive, mood-specific colognes still in the Le Male extended family of releases, best saved for actual warm-weather travel rather than a routine Tuesday.
