About This Style

Vintage rugs are defined by an aged aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variations, and distressed surface treatments that reflect mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving traditions. Floral motifs in these rugs range from dense, scrolled fields to repetitive rose bouquets, drawing from both Ottoman design vocabulary and regional 20th-century craftsmanship. Distressing is frequently achieved through a combination of intentional wear and overdying, a process where the rug is submerged in a single-colour bath to reveal ghost-like traces of the original pattern.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction ensures this rug remains thin and stable, making it ideal for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its profile is compatible with underfloor heating systems and serves as a practical base for layering over larger rugs.
