Description

A raspberry jelly shimmer. Lavis CE12-10 is one of the twelve shades in the Crimson Frost drop, frozen berries, icy reds and crystalline silver frost: a 9D magnetic cat eye gel that pulls its line when a magnet is held over the wet second coat.

Why techs pick CE12-10

  • 9D magnetic cat eye: the closer the magnet is held, the sharper and deeper the line, in Lavis's words.
  • Formulated without HEMA and without TPO: stated as what is left out, not as a promise that nobody can react.
  • 0.5 fl oz (15 mL) salon bottle with a high-gloss, high-transparency finish.
  • 60 to 90 second cure under a UV or LED lamp; Lavis quotes up to 21 days of wear with proper prep and a top coat.

How to apply CE12-10

  1. Prep: push cuticles back, buff the shine off, wipe, then cure a thin gel base (Base & Top Gel).
  2. First thin coat of CE12-10, cured 60 seconds, no magnet.
  3. Second, slightly fuller coat. Before it cures, hold a cat eye magnet about 2 mm above the wet gel for three to five seconds without touching it.
  4. Cure that nail at once, one nail at a time; the pigment drifts as soon as the magnet moves away. Full cure 60 to 90 seconds.
  5. Seal with a glossy gel top coat and cure. A dark cured underlayer makes the line read stronger.

Best for

Lavis pitches the Crimson Frost drop for fall and winter. Winter holiday menus: berry crimson with a silver line is the season's red. Snow and ice nail art: silver frost under chrome flakes or a matte top.

Questions about CE12-10

Is a magnet included? No. Every Lavis cat eye shade needs a magnet, sold separately; any bar, stylus or dual-line nail magnet works and ours are in the Magnet collection. Without one the gel cures as an even shimmer.

What does HEMA-free mean here? Lavis formulates CE12-10 without HEMA, the small monomer most often named in gel reactions, and without TPO, the photoinitiator that cures the gel. That is an exclusion, not a guarantee that no one reacts.

How is it removed? A normal gel soak-off: file the top thin, wrap in acetone, wait, push the softened gel away. Never pry.
