Lavana - Vintage Medallion Rug - 9'3 X 9'7

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind Anatolian heritage piece features a flatwoven construction, faded patina, and abrash detail. With an overdyed finish, low-pile, no-shed surface, this high-traffic durable, layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, reversible weave offers a soft-touch, distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal, sun-bleached tones aesthetic in vibrant red and yellow.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are defined by an aged aesthetic, often utilising surface treatments to simulate decades of wear, such as abrash colour variation and distressed, erased pile. Medallion motifs serve as the traditional anchor for these compositions, frequently paired with floral elements like blossoms and vines that reflect mid-20th-century Anatolian weaving. Through the process of overdyeing, original patterns remain visible as ghost-like traces beneath a saturated wash, resulting in a unique, aged character.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie flat, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and dining rooms. Its thin profile is ideal for layering over larger rugs or placing in zones with underfloor heating.
