Description

  • Handcrafted Quality: Rattan reed handwoven over a hardwood bottom about a half inch thick, with a wrapped rim, turning on a swivel fixed to a wood base, by an Old Order Amish family on the Iowa-Missouri border, and signed by the weaver who made it.
  • The Base Stays Still: Only the basket turns, on a swivel fixed to the wood base. The base sits flat on the table and never moves, so a wood table stays unmarked, and the basket spins with one finger.
  • The 12 Inch Size: 12 inches across with 3 1/2 inch sides: the dining table centerpiece, where the butter, the jam, the salt and pepper and the napkins sit within a quarter turn of every chair; a wide counter or the kitchen island; the coffee table with the remotes. For a small table or a shelf, the 10 inch lazy susan.
  • Measures: 12" diameter x 3 1/2" tall. Contents not included.
  • Three Trim Colors: Choose Plain, Wine & Blue, or Wine & Green. The color is woven in as dyed reed, not painted on, and on the plain finish the stain takes to each piece of wood in its own way.
  • Optional Extras: A hand-sewn cloth liner in cream, wine, blue or green, a lift-off wood lid, an engraved solid brass plate and protective feet are each optional and sold right on this page. The feet do not affect the spinning. The basket ships unlined and is complete without them.
  • American Heritage: Handwoven in the USA and signed by the Amish weaver who made it. Backed by our lifetime guarantee, with free shipping and no-questions returns on every order.

Kim, in 2026: "It is a very pretty option for the things that are always on the table but often look messy. This makes it all stay in one place, and since it rotates, I can reach everything I need." Carolyn: "It is large enough to hold all of the things we seem to think we need at the table at meal times." Heather: "Everyone can reach what they need and when they need it (like napkins during spaghetti suppers!)."

Lynn, in 2025, has it "on the center of our kitchen table with paper napkins, salt + pepper plus a couple bottles of pills." Amy, in 2026: "I use it for my kitchen utensils on my kitchen counter." Margaret: "I use it on my kitchen island and on my coffee table." Mary owns both sizes: "I ordered the large and smaller one which is by my coffee pot." On the extras, Eleanor: "I added the slider feet. Makes it easier to push around the table." Debra: "The cream cover will protect my beautiful Lazy Susan!!"

Virginia: "At Christmas I can put some goodies in them & put all in cellophane & looks fun!" Fill it with the Amish jams and chocolates from the gift baskets page, enter the recipient's address at checkout, and it ships to them gift-ready with your note and no prices in the box. The sizes are outside measurements. Both sizes are on the lazy susans page; the rest of the counter and table pieces are on the kitchen baskets page.

An Old Order Amish family weaves it by hand on the Iowa-Missouri border, in the same community as the rest of our kitchen baskets, and the weaver signs the bottom before it leaves the farm. Standard shipping is free, and rush delivery is offered at checkout when a birthday or Christmas is close. It ships gift-ready, with no prices in the box, a free gift note at checkout, and a short letter about the family who wove it. Like every basket we sell, it carries our lifetime guarantee, and returns are no questions asked.
