A beautiful tiny detail from the 9th c. Book of Kells portrait of Saint John on page 291v., positioned below the hand of the Evangelist.
In the original it is not much bigger than the size of a postage stamp.... is there ANY doubt that the Book of Kells was illustrated by Angels?
