About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an aged aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments. Distressed rugs utilise specific finishing techniques to mimic decades of use, often including an overdyed process that leaves ghost traces of the original pattern beneath a saturated colour bath. Medallion motifs serve as a hallmark of classical design, anchoring the composition with a central geometric or stylised form framed by a distinct border.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction ensures this rug lies flush against the floor, making it highly functional for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and living rooms. It is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems and is suitable for layering over larger carpets to define specific zones.
