Kanosa - Vintage Floral Rug - 5'10 X 9'3

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece embodies Anatolian heritage through its flatwoven construction, faded patina, and abrash detail. Featuring an overdyed finish, low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable surface, it is layering-friendly and underfloor-heating safe. The reversible weave, soft-touch, distressed character, ghost-pattern, and 70s craftsmanship in a cotton-polyester blend showcase single-piece artisanal sun-bleached tones.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. These pieces reference the mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving tradition, where items were produced in small village workshops using natural dyes and regional motifs. Floral compositions in this category range from densely scrolled all-over fields to mid-century rose-bouquet repeats, reflecting both traditional Ottoman vocabulary and 20th-century regional variations.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie flat against the floor, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its low profile ensures it is layering-friendly and safe for use over underfloor heating systems.
