Kabocha Squash (Cucurbita maxima)

A hardy and mouthwatering Japanese squash. Shaped like a buttercup with bright yellow-orange flesh and an exquisite sweet, nutty flavor. Great roasted, steamed, puréed and as a cooking/baking ingredient. Easy seeds to save!

• 25 seeds minimum
• Germination: 8-12 days
• Maturity: 100 days
• Direct sow 1” deep in full sun after danger of frost has passed or start indoors 3 weeks before last frost date. Harden off before transplanting.
• Sow 6-8 seeds in hills 8' apart. Thin to 3-4 seeds or plant in rows 8' apart, spacing plants 8-12" apart in the row.
