Product Information

Hancock's Horse Pasture Grass Cool Climate Mix is the perfect blend of endophyte-free pasture grass seed varieties. This cool season pasture grass seed mixture was selected to provide a dual purpose pasture advantage. Our horse pasture seed mixture provides close grazing adaptability as well as forage and hay production.

Our Horse pasture grass seed mixture is commonly used in pasture applications for horses, alpacas, sheep, and other grazing animals. This pasture grass seed mixture will perform in extremely cold climate areas.

The Orchardgrass is a later-maturing variety. It has good pest and disease resistance. It has very good cold tolerance and has shown to be highest in digestibility of all orchardgrasses. We use a grazing variety of Endophyte-Free Ryegrass in this mix, and Orchardgrass and Bluegrass as well to achieve the best possible grazing blend.

Horse Pasture Grass Seed Mix - Cool Climate is formulated to provide a quality blend for its intended purpose and may include, but is not limited to, Perennial Forage Ryegrass, Tetraploid Annual Ryegrass, Timothy Grass, Forage Kentucky Bluegrass, Orchardgrass and other carefully selected seed varieties.

Because seed availability changes throughout the year, the specific varieties included in each lot may vary while maintaining the intended performance and quality of the mix. If you are looking for a particular variety or would like to review the current lot's seed label before placing your order, please contact our Customer Service team. We are happy to provide the current seed label and answer any questions you may have.

Plant at a rate of 50 to 75 lbs. per acre for new pastures, or 25 to 50 lbs. per acre for overseeding pastures.

For pasture fertilization, apply 250 - 350 lbs. of 16-04-08 slow release fertilizer per acre in late spring, mid-summer, and early fall. Animals that are grazing will damage the pasture if the pasture is not properly fertilized annually. The grass must be provided with adequate nutrients to compete with the animals.
