About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. Distressing mimics age through selective fading or erased pile areas that reveal the base structure, often resulting from an overdyed finish where the original rug is submerged in a saturated colour bath. This process reveals ghost traces of the original pattern, referencing the mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving tradition where pieces were produced in small village workshops using regional motifs.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction makes this rug suitable for high-traffic areas, including hallways, kitchens, and entryways. Its profile is layering-friendly and fully compatible with underfloor heating systems.
