About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments that reference mid-20th-century Anatolian weaving. Distressed rugs utilise surface treatments to mimic natural wear, including selectively faded zones or erased pile areas that reveal the base structure. In many vintage examples, this character is achieved through an overdyed process, where a rug is submerged in a saturated colour bath, leaving ghost traces of the original pattern visible beneath the wash.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie flat against the floor, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its thin profile is ideal for layering over larger rugs or placing in areas with underfloor heating.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features a distinct blue palette with a faded, distressed character that highlights the underlying ghost-pattern.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend, offering the breathability of cotton with the moisture resistance and durability of polyester.
• — No-pile flatwoven construction ensures the rug remains low-profile and stable in high-traffic zones.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Safe for use with underfloor heating systems and versatile enough for layering in open-plan living areas.
