About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. Distressing is a surface treatment that mimics age and wear, such as selectively faded zones or erased pile areas that reveal the base structure. In many cases, these rugs undergo an overdying process where the piece is submerged in a saturated single-colour bath, allowing ghost traces of the original pattern to remain visible beneath the wash.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie flat against the floor, making it highly functional for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and dining rooms. Its thin profile is ideal for layering over larger rugs and is safe for use with underfloor heating systems.
