Grusita - Vintage Floral Rug - 5'5 X 9'1

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece celebrates Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction, featuring a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. With its low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable, layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, reversible weave, soft-touch, distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal, and sun-bleached tones, it captures a distinct vintage aesthetic.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments. These pieces reference the mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving tradition, where items were produced in village workshops using regional motifs. Floral vintage rugs utilise botanical forms, such as blossoms and vines, which range from densely scrolled fields to repeating patterns that reflect both traditional Ottoman vocabulary and 20th-century regional variations.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie flat against the floor, making it highly functional for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its low-profile nature is compatible with underfloor heating and facilitates easy layering over larger rugs to create depth.
