About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, or worn surface treatments. Distressed rugs utilise a surface treatment that mimics age, such as erased pile areas or overdyeing, where a rug is submerged in a saturated colour bath to reveal ghost traces of the original pattern. Medallion rugs are defined by a dominant central motif—circular, oval, or diamond-shaped—which acts as the anchor for the composition, traditionally framed by a distinct border.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie perfectly flat, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. It is compatible with underfloor heating and functions well as a layering piece over larger carpets.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features a prominent central medallion motif with a distressed, overdyed turquoise finish that highlights the rug's unique ghost-pattern.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend, offering the breathability of natural fibre alongside the long-term durability and moisture resistance of synthetic material.
• — The flatwoven construction results in a low-pile, no-shed surface that is highly durable for everyday use and simple to maintain.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Engineered for versatility, the rug is safe for underfloor heating and provides a stable, layering-friendly base for any high-traffic area of the home.
