About This Style

Vintage rugs evoke an aged aesthetic often achieved through distressed surface treatments, such as abrash colour variation or selectively faded zones. These rugs frequently feature a medallion motif as a central focal point, framed by botanical floral patterns derived from historical Ottoman design. The overdyed process further enhances this distressed character by leaving ghost traces of the original pattern beneath a saturated wash, reflecting mid-20th-century Anatolian weaving traditions.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie perfectly flush against the floor, making it highly functional for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its low profile is suitable for placement over underfloor heating systems and serves as an ideal base for layering in larger rooms.
