Gamiane - Vintage Medallion Rug - 5'9 X 10'1

This orange Apex rug features a hand-woven, one-of-a-kind Anatolian heritage design. Its flatwoven construction displays a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. With a low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable surface, it is layering-friendly and underfloor-heating safe, offering a reversible weave, soft-touch distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal, sun-bleached tones.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments. Distressed pieces result from decades of use combined with overdyeing, a process where the rug is submerged in a saturated colour bath, leaving ghost traces of the original pattern visible. Medallion and floral motifs serve as hallmarks of these designs, drawing from mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving traditions where regional motifs were produced in small village workshops.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie completely flat against the floor, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its thin profile is ideal for layering over larger carpets and ensures efficient heat transfer when used with underfloor heating systems.
