About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments that reference mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving traditions. Distressed styles utilise surface treatments to mimic decades of natural wear, including selectively faded zones or erased pile areas that reveal the base structure. In many cases, these rugs undergo an overdyed finish, where the piece is submerged in a saturated colour bath, leaving ghost traces of the original pattern visible beneath the wash.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie flat against the floor, making it ideal for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, or kitchens. Its thin profile is compatible with underfloor heating systems and is highly effective for layering over larger carpets or hard flooring surfaces.
