Fluil - Vintage Medallion Rug - 5'8 X 9'1

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece celebrates Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction, showcasing a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. Featuring a low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable surface, it is layering-friendly and underfloor-heating safe. The reversible weave offers a soft-touch, distressed character with a ghost-pattern reminiscent of 70s craftsmanship, finished in a cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal quality, and sun-bleached tones.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, and distressed surface treatments. These pieces frequently incorporate a central medallion motif—a hallmark of classical Anatolian design—rendered in geometric or stylised forms, often accompanied by floral botanical elements like blossoms and vines. The distressed character is achieved through decades of use or intentional overdying, where a saturated wash leaves ghost-like traces of the original pattern visible beneath the surface.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie completely flat against the floor, making it an ideal choice for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. It is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems and serves as an effective option for layering over larger rugs.
