Flosa - Vintage Distressed Rug - 5'7 X 9'4

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece celebrates Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction, showcasing a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. Featuring a low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable profile, this layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, reversible weave offers a soft-touch, distressed character with ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal, sun-bleached turquoise tones.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments. Distressed rugs utilise a surface treatment that mimics age, where overdying—submerging a rug in a single-colour bath—leaves ghost traces of the original pattern visible beneath the wash. Medallion rugs feature a dominant central motif, typically circular or diamond-shaped, which serves to anchor the composition and is framed by a distinct border.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie flush against the floor, making it highly suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and entryways. Its thin profile is ideal for layering over larger carpets and ensures efficient heat transfer when used with underfloor heating systems.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features a prominent central medallion motif rendered in a stylised, geometric fashion characteristic of mid-century Turkish design.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend; cotton provides natural breathability, while polyester adds necessary durability and moisture resistance.
• — The no-pile, flatwoven construction ensures the rug remains stable underfoot and is easy to maintain in busy household environments.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Versatile design that is layering-friendly and safe for use in areas equipped with underfloor heating.
