Fleus - Vintage Distressed Rug - 5'3 X 8'4

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece captures Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction, featuring a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. With its low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable surface, it is layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, and offers a reversible weave, soft-touch distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal quality, and sun-bleached tones.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. These pieces reference the mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving tradition, where items were produced in small village workshops using regional motifs. Distressed rugs undergo specific surface treatments that mimic age, such as erased pile areas that reveal the base structure or an overdyed finish, where a rug is submerged in a saturated colour bath to leave ghost traces of the original pattern visible beneath the wash.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie completely flat, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its low-profile design is ideal for layering over larger carpets or placement in rooms with underfloor heating.
