Description
Flavor Delight Aprium is a natural introduction to hybrid fruit because it looks and tastes strongly like an apricot while adding a juicy, tangy twist from its plum ancestry. The medium-sized fruit develops golden skin with a warm blush and tender flesh that balances bright sweetness with lively acidity. Its aromatic, layered flavor makes it especially compelling fresh from the tree, yet the fruit is versatile enough for drying, preserves, and desserts.
Early white blossoms bring beauty and pollinator interest to the orchard before the golden crop arrives. With low winter-chill needs and a harvest near the opening of apricot season, Flavor Delight can be particularly useful in mild-winter gardens and in plantings designed for a long succession of stone fruit. It is a distinctive but approachable choice for growers who want something unusual, productive, and immediately appealing at the table.
Plant in full sun and sharply drained soil. Citation rootstock creates a manageable semi-dwarf tree. Because it blooms early, avoid frost pockets where possible. Prune for light and airflow, and maintain even moisture as fruit develops.
Flavor Delight is self-fruitful, so one tree can set a crop. Another compatible aprium or apricot nearby can bring more bees through the blossoms, may enhance set, and provides another fruit profile for comparison.
