Flaruva - Vintage Medallion Rug - 5'10 X 9'4

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece celebrates Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction, showcasing a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. Featuring a low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable surface, it is layering-friendly and underfloor-heating safe. The reversible weave offers a soft-touch, distressed character with ghost-pattern 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal sun-bleached tones.

About This Style

Vintage rugs evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, and distressed surface treatments resulting from decades of use and overdying. These pieces frequently incorporate a central medallion motif—a hallmark of classical design—framed by distinct borders. Floral compositions, ranging from scrolled fields to botanical repeats, reflect traditional Ottoman vocabulary and mid-20th-century regional Anatolian weaving techniques.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie completely flat, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and dining rooms. Its low-profile design is ideal for layering over larger carpets, placement under doors, and is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems.
