Fionaya - Vintage Medallion Rug - 5'10 X 9'8

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece celebrates Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction, featuring a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. With a low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable surface that is layering-friendly and underfloor-heating safe, its reversible weave, soft-touch, distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal quality, and sun-bleached tones define its vintage aesthetic.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments. Distressed elements, such as selective fading or erased pile, reveal the base structure and are often the result of overdyeing processes that leave ghost traces of the original pattern. Medallion motifs serve as the central anchor for the composition, while floral designs incorporate botanical forms ranging from scrolled vines to traditional rose-bouquet repeats.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction ensures this rug lies flat against the floor, making it highly suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. It is compatible with underfloor heating systems and serves as a functional choice for layering over larger rugs to add texture to a floor space.
