About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn surface treatments. Distressed vintage rugs specifically incorporate a surface treatment that mimics decades of wear, such as selectively faded zones or erased pile that reveals the rug's base structure. This often results from overdyeing, a process where an original rug is submerged in a saturated colour bath, leaving ghost traces of the original pattern visible beneath the wash.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie perfectly flush against the floor, making it an ideal choice for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its low profile is compatible with underfloor heating systems and is highly effective for layering over larger carpets.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features a distinct turquoise overdyed finish that highlights a complex ghost-pattern and traditional distressed character.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend, where cotton provides natural breathability and polyester ensures long-term durability and moisture resistance.
• — The flatwoven construction features no pile, ensuring the rug remains stable underfoot and resistant to shedding in busy environments.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Designed for longevity, this piece is high-traffic durable and safe for use over underfloor heating systems.
