About This Style

Vintage rugs are defined by an aged aesthetic, often showcasing faded tones and abrash-like colour variations that reflect mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving traditions. Distressed rugs utilise surface treatments to mimic wear, where selective fading and overdyed finishes reveal ghost-patterns of the original design beneath the wash. Medallion rugs are anchored by a central geometric or stylised motif, typically framed by a distinct structural border, serving as a hallmark of traditional Turkish carpet composition.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie completely flush against the floor, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and entryways. Its profile is ideal for layering over larger rugs or placing over underfloor heating systems without impeding thermal efficiency.
