Description
Euphorbia ‘Ascot Rainbow’ delivers changing color in every season with narrow, blue-green leaves edged in creamy yellow. Cooler weather washes the foliage with vivid shades of pink, red, and coral, while clusters of cream, lime-green, and yellow bracts create an additional show in late spring and early summer.
This compact, bushy perennial grows approximately 18–24 inches tall and wide. Hardy in USDA zones 5–9, it thrives in full sun to partial shade and average, sharply drained soil. Once established, ‘Ascot Rainbow’ is heat- and drought-tolerant and requires little maintenance. Avoid consistently wet soil, especially during winter.
Use this colorful spurge as a year-round accent in borders, rock gardens, Mediterranean-style plantings, and containers. Its upright form and luminous variegation pair beautifully with dark-leaved heucheras, ornamental grasses, salvias, and other drought-tolerant perennials. Deer and rabbits typically leave it alone. Like other Euphorbias, it produces a milky sap that can irritate skin and eyes, so wear gloves when pruning and keep it away from children and pets.
Safety note: The milky sap can irritate skin and eyes and is harmful if ingested. Wear gloves when pruning, avoid eye contact, and keep away from children and pets.
