The flat-screen problem

A flat touchscreen never quite feels like you're actually there

Most connected bikes bolt on a flat HD display and call it immersive, but a flat panel is still just a screen on a stick. Scenic rides and studio classes lose some of their depth when the picture stays perfectly rectangular no matter how hard the workout gets.

The Echelon EX-8s Connect Bike solves that with an industry-first curved 24 inch HD touchscreen designed to wrap the ride around the rider instead of just sitting in front of them. The screen still flips a full 180 degrees for off-bike training, so strength, yoga, boxing, and Pilates classes are one motion away without leaving the bike. A Bluetooth resistance controller built into the handlebars lets riders shift through all 32 magnetic resistance levels without ever touching the knob.

Echelon's e-Shock frame system flexes with the rider's movement, easing knee and joint strain during out-of-saddle efforts, while a scratch-resistant powder-coated frame is built to hold up under daily home use.

EX-8s vs EX-7s

Two different priorities, not a simple upgrade

Feature EX-7s EX-8s
Screen Flat 24" HD, 180° pivot Curved 24" HD, 180° pivot
Flywheel Single flywheel Dual-ring, 15-color LED
Handlebars Multi-grip with forearm rests Ergonomic racing bullhorn
Build Focus Commercial-grade cranks & bearings e-Shock joint-friendly frame

Despite the lower model number, the EX-7s is actually positioned as the heavier-duty, light commercial option with competition-level cranks and bearings, while the EX-8s leans into immersive tech and ride comfort for premium home use. The two aren't a strict upgrade path, they're built for different priorities.

What independent testers found

A stable ride, even at the highest resistance

"The frame of the bike itself didn't shake when you started against higher resistance."

Independent Testing Team

A generic spin bike will undercut the EX-8s on price, but it typically skips the motorized Bluetooth resistance, curved touchscreen, and e-Shock frame flex entirely. Within Echelon's own lineup, the entry-level Connect Upright Pro Bike covers casual riding with a basic LED display and toe cage pedals, while the EX-8s steps up to a full connected training system for riders who want the most immersive experience Echelon builds.

Best for

Home riders who want the most immersive connected cycling experience Echelon offers, plus off-bike strength, yoga, and cross-training from the same machine.
