About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an aged aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. These pieces reference the mid-20th-century tradition of Anatolian hand-weaving, where items were produced in village workshops using regional motifs. Distressing, often achieved through overdyeing, leaves ghost traces of the original pattern beneath a saturated colour wash, while floral motifs incorporate botanical elements like blossoms and vines derived from Ottoman design vocabularies.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie perfectly flush against the floor, making it highly suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its low-profile nature ensures it is underfloor-heating safe and ideal for layering over larger rugs to create depth in a room.
