About This Style

Vintage rugs evoke an antique aesthetic through faded tones, abrash colour variation, and worn-look treatments that reference mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving traditions. Distressed surfaces often result from decades of use paired with overdying, a process that leaves ghost traces of original patterns visible beneath a saturated colour bath. Medallion motifs serve as the central anchor of the composition, while floral elements—ranging from botanical vines to stylised blossoms—reflect the historical Ottoman and regional design vocabulary.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie flush against the floor, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its thin profile is ideal for layering over larger carpets or placement in rooms with underfloor heating.
