Defisa - Vintage Distressed Rug - 5'7 X 8'4

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece celebrates Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction, showcasing a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. Featuring a low-pile, no-shed surface that is high-traffic durable and layering-friendly, this underfloor-heating safe, reversible weave offers a soft-touch, distressed character with ghost-pattern 70s craftsmanship, a cotton-polyester blend, and single-piece artisanal sun-bleached tones.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are defined by an aged aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variations, and worn-look surface treatments. Distressed vintage pieces undergo a specialised process where they are overdyed in a saturated bath, leaving ghost traces of the original pattern visible beneath the wash. Medallion motifs serve as the central anchor of these compositions, often rendered in the geometric or stylised forms typical of mid-20th-century Turkish workshops.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction ensures this rug lies flat against the floor, making it highly practical for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and dining rooms. Its slim profile is compatible with underfloor heating and is ideal for layering over larger rugs to add texture to a room.
