Crusa - Vintage Distressed Rug - 6'1 X 9'0

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece showcases Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction, featuring a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. With low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable, layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, and reversible weave properties, it offers a soft-touch, distressed character with a ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal, and sun-bleached tones.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are defined by an aged aesthetic, often featuring faded tones and abrash-like colour variations that reference mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving traditions. Distressed rugs utilise surface treatments to mimic natural wear, such as selective fading or erased pile that reveals the underlying foundation. When combined with an overdyed finish, the original rug is submerged in a saturated colour bath, leaving a ghost-pattern of the original design visible. The medallion motif serves as a central anchor, typically rendered in the geometric forms characteristic of historical Turkish carpet design.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction ensures this rug lies flush against the floor, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its low-profile design is ideal for layering over larger carpets and is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems.
