Croton Petra

The Croton Petra is a bold, color-splashed showstopper that brings instant tropical energy to any space. Known botanically as Codiaeum petra, this striking croton plant is prized for its large, glossy leaves painted in rich shades of green, gold, orange, red, and burgundy. Each leaf looks hand-brushed with color, creating a living work of art that brightens patios, porches, sunrooms, and outdoor living areas.

Unlike subtler foliage plants, Petra Croton thrives on drama. Its upright growth habit and dense canopy make it an ideal statement plant—perfect as a focal point in containers, paired with flowering tropicals, or used to add structure and contrast in warm-climate landscapes. The vibrant leaf coloration intensifies with proper light, giving this croton its signature jewel-toned appeal throughout the growing season.

Versatile and expressive, Croton Petra works beautifully as both an outdoor accent and a seasonal indoor plant in bright light. Whether anchoring a patio display, flanking an entryway, or bringing lush color indoors during cooler months, this croton plant delivers year-round visual impact.

If you’re looking for a foliage plant that offers nonstop color without relying on flowers, Codiaeum Petra is a standout choice. With its tropical personality and unmistakable palette, Croton Petra transforms ordinary spaces into vibrant, sun-soaked retreats—proof that great garden design starts with unforgettable foliage.
