About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an aged aesthetic, often referencing the mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving tradition where pieces were produced in small village workshops. Distressed rugs feature surface treatments that mimic wear, such as abrash colour variation and selectively faded zones, while the overdyed finish involves submerging the rug in a single-colour bath to reveal ghost traces of the original pattern. A medallion rug is defined by a dominant central motif, typically circular, diamond, or oval, which acts as the focal point within the composition.

Where It Works

The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie flat against the floor, making it highly suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. It is compatible with underfloor heating systems and serves as an effective option for layering over larger rugs.
