Description
The best thing about the Daisy-like flowers of Cineraria Senetti® White Red Heart is how profusely they bloom. Each plant produces a bounty of 1½-3" flowers in a striking color combination—crisp white petals surrounding a vivid red heart. These charming blooms last for weeks, offering a cheerful sight during the colder months of the year. 'Sene Niregoku' PP 34,732. Shipped in an 8" wide x 7" tall woven basket.
The floriferous, tender perennials with large, Daisy-like blooms we commonly call Cineraria were once placed in the genus Cineraria, they have since been reclassified in the genus Pericallis that includes about 15 species of herbaceous plants and small subshrubs endemic to the Canary Islands, Madeira, and the Azores. The Florist’s Cinerarias we grow as houseplants (or in Zone 9-11 gardens) are short-lived, interspecific (between species) hybrids (P. cruenta x P. lanata) growing from cool cliffs towering above the Atlantic Ocean. Like those cliffside beauties, they prefer cool temperatures and evenly moist, but never saturated, soil.
