Description

Candy Heart Pluerry Tree produces fruit that looks as playful as its name suggests. The heart-shaped pluerries develop dark speckled red skin around amber-red flesh, combining plum richness with cherry-like sweetness in a juicy, slightly tangy bite. Their unusual shape makes them irresistible for fresh snacking, fruit plates, desserts, and gifts, while the balanced flavor also works in preserves and baking. Fruit can remain in good condition on the tree as sweetness develops, giving the gardener a welcome picking window. Spring blossoms bring ornamental appeal before the colorful crop forms. For anyone who wants an orchard conversation piece that earns its space through flavor—not novelty alone—Candy Heart offers a memorable hybrid fruit with an enchanting appearance and a genuinely delicious personality.

Incoming 2027 Candy Heart trees grow on vigorous Nemaguard rootstock. The variety is suited to USDA zones 6–9, with a confirmed chill requirement of 500 hours or less. In suitable climates, harvest generally spans late July through late August. Plant in full sun, provide well-drained soil, and thin clusters for fruit size.

Candy Heart requires a compatible pollinizer. Confirmed partners include Sweet Treat Pluerry and Burgundy Plum.

2027 rootstock: Nemaguard. Nemaguard is a vigorous rootstock with resistance to root-knot nematodes. It needs well-drained soil; plan canopy space and pruning for vigorous growth rather than relying on dwarfing. Earlier-season trees may have a different rootstock; check the tree label or your order confirmation. Mature dimensions and spacing depend on the variety, site and pruning system.
