About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments that reference mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving traditions. Distressed rugs utilise specific surface treatments to mimic age, such as selectively faded zones or erased pile areas that reveal the base structure, often achieved through an overdying process that leaves ghost traces of original motifs. Medallion rugs are defined by a dominant central circular, oval, or diamond-shaped motif, which serves as the anchor for the composition and is typically framed by a structurally distinct border.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction makes this rug suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and entryways. Its thin profile is ideal for layering over larger rugs or placing in areas with underfloor heating.
