About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. Distressed elements mimic age, where selective fading or erased pile reveals the base structure, often enhanced by overdyeing to create a ghost-pattern effect. The medallion is a dominant central motif—typically circular, oval, or diamond-shaped—which anchors the composition and serves as a hallmark of traditional Anatolian design.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction makes this rug suitable for high-traffic areas, including hallways, kitchens, and living rooms. Its profile is ideal for layering over larger carpets or placement on floors with underfloor heating.

Why Choose This Rug?

• — Features a central medallion motif with a distressed finish that reveals ghost-pattern traces of the original 70s craftsmanship.
• — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend; cotton provides natural breathability, while polyester adds durability and moisture resistance.
• — Flatwoven construction ensures the rug lies flat against the floor, eliminating tripping hazards and allowing for easy door clearance.
• — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production.
• — Designed for high-traffic durability and layering, this rug is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems.
