Description
The Eau de Parfum version of this fragrance goes for maximalist density; the Eau de Toilette dials the same note list back to something lighter and easier to wear daily. Marigold, orange, tangerine, bitter orange, apricot, basil, asafoetida, cassia, lemon and bergamot open this Boucheron Eau de Toilette with the same generous citrus-fruit accord as its sibling, just less concentrated. Tuberose, Madagascar ylang-ylang, orange blossom, jasmine, narcissus, geranium, orris root, cedar, lydia broom and lily-of-the-valley fill an equally busy heart. Amber, civet, sandalwood, benzoin, Indian vanilla, oakmoss, tonka bean and musk close out a foundation that reads warm rather than heavy at this strength. Marketed the same way as Boucheron Perfume, Boucheron classifies this Eau de Toilette as oriental floral chypre, suited to daytime wear where the full Eau de Parfum would feel like too much for the hour. The civet in particular reads noticeably softer here than in the EDP concentration, present enough to add texture without the animalic intensity that makes the stronger version feel considerably more demanding, which makes this the more approachable entry point for anyone curious about the house's original 1988 formula without committing to its full-strength expression right away, making it a sensible test run before deciding whether the denser original suits daily wear.
