Bluta - Vintage Medallion Rug - 6'0 X 9'5

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece celebrates Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction, featuring a faded patina with abrash detail and an overdyed finish. Its low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable, layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, reversible weave design offers a soft-touch, distressed character with a ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal quality and sun-bleached tones.

About This Style

Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, and distressed surface treatments. These pieces frequently incorporate a central medallion motif or floral botanical arrangements, reflecting the mid-20th-century Anatolian tradition of small village workshop production. Distressing is often achieved through an overdyed process, which submerges the rug in a colour bath to reveal ghost-like traces of the original pattern beneath the wash.

Where It Works

The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie perfectly flat, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and living spaces. It is compatible with underfloor heating systems and serves as an effective base for layering in larger floor plans.
